I'm in awe of these carpets by Märta Måås-Fjetterström, who founded Swedish weaving workshop MMF in 1919. She designed patterns for rugs and fabrics to be woven by local women at home (can we revisit this business model?). I first saw them in the Wright Auction House Scandinavian Design lots this morning. Many are still in production (alongside some wacky contemporary works) and available through MMF in Sweden.

Below, a selection of my Måås-Fjetterström favorites. Browse the rest at the MMF site, including the Heden Remix, with work by Claesson Koivisto Rune and Front Design. Pictured above are Ursula (left), from 1935, and Gula, from sometime in the 1930s.
